Testimonials
What we do would not be possible without the support from dedicated enthusiasts and adventure travelers. We are immensely proud when our subscribers take the time to let us know how pleased they are with our publication. We truly consider them "the sun in our sky." Here are a few words about Overland Journal from our loyal readers:
“The photography and level of expertise captured within the articles is astounding.”
Being a long time reader of magazines dealing with many outdoors and 4WD vehicle pursuits, I was literally mesmerized by my first issues of your outstanding publication. It made all the others feel like comic books! I felt like a kid again, visiting relatives and sneaking off to read my uncle’s National Geographic magazines.
The photography and level of expertise captured within the articles is astounding. Even the level of advertising is held to an appropriate high standard. It has already been reserved a prominent location on my coffee table, moving the “comic book” brethren to boxes in the basement…
I’m secure in the feeling that I don’t have to tell you to “keep up the good work”… just keep them coming.

“Overland Journal got it right for the rest of us.”
I have never bothered writing to a publication before, but this time I felt compelled. After years of flipping through nonsense, Overland Journal got it right for the rest of us. From cover to cover everything counts. Great photography, knowledgeable editorials; a real class act. Congratulations on a job well-done and thank you for the inspiration to get us out there and enjoy our world.

“Your publication has become an icon for those of us who love exploring and good journalism.”
I wanted to let you know how great a job you are doing on Overland Journal. You are in the same class as Gray’s Sporting Journal, in that these are the only two publications I actually sit down and read cover to cover, and then go back to consistently for re-discovery. The quality of the writing and photography, and the diversity of articles is just plain spot-on. So I hope you guys can keep this wonderful publication going, as it has become an icon for those of us who love exploring and good journalism.

“Thanks for putting out the highest-quality adventure magazine available.”
I”m about two-thirds of the way through the Winter 2008 Overland Journal, and had to write to you. So far this one has been one of my favorite issues!
Thanks for putting out the highest-quality adventure magazine available. I even look forward to the advertisements. As a photo/video enthusiast, I appreciate the high-quality photographs, and the stories are just as great.

“Renew my subscription forever.”
Don”t want to take up your time, just credit where it”s due. Your magazine and everything you guys write about and recommend is fantastic. My friend who claims to dislike 4WDs and camping for some reason can”t put your magazine down every time she gets near my coffee table. After reading the latest issue, she wants to get a Hi-Lift jack for her Audi. I tried to tell her that she doesn”t have workable jack points on her A4, but I”m afraid she”s too far gone.
Renew my subscription forever. You guys are even making me consider $275 shoes for the first time in my life. What economic crisis?

“This journal fits my application of 4WD to a tee…”
On a family vacation to Albuquerque last December, I happened across your publication at the Land Rover dealership and instantly fell in love with it. I ranted about it so much that my wife ordered a surprise subscription, along with all the back issues, for my birthday in January. After receiving several issues, I must admit that I am still as enthralled with your publication now as I was after reading the first issue. This journal fits my application of 4WD to a tee—something the other major 4WD magazines don”t even touch. I appreciate your attention to 4WD travel, not to the ridiculous application of high-horsepower, over-built mud boggers and rock climbers.
Keep up the professional journalism, the fantastic product reviews, and the simply incredible and awe-inspiring photography. A top-notch publication indeed!

“Overland Journal is like melding adventure, travel, photography, culture, and 4WD vehicles in one well-written, superb-quality publication.”
Discovering Overland Journal is like melding adventure, travel, photography, culture, and 4WD vehicles in one well-written, superb-quality publication. Having met the people involved, it is a true reflection of their character. How often can something grasp you and make you part of the adventure? Arriving in Prescott shortly after the Overland Expo, and seeing many of the vehicles in your office parking lot, was an added bonus. For a moment I thought I should be taking malaria pills, swatting tsetse flies, and watching for land mines.
Having purchased all your back issues… where does one start? Maybe I will change the oil in the 80-Series. Dig out my Tilley travel underwear and head for the roads less traveled.

“I appreciate your refined, upscale take on off-highway travel…”
I discovered your magazine at the Land Rover National Rally and I must say, what a pleasant surprise! The quality of your content rivals pre-90s National Geographic issues and I've thoroughly enjoyed the first issue of my subscription. I especially appreciate your refined, upscale take on off-highway travel, something that is missing from every other four-wheel-drive magazine on the newsstand. I would also like to commend you on your commitment to conservation and environmentally responsible travel. Encouraging minimal-impact tourism to threatened areas is the best way to protect them. Keep it coming!

“You guys have it nailed.”
Your magazine hits the mark again with the Fall 2007 issue. Every issue has been a joy to receive, and I don”t loan any of them out as my friends would keep them I am sure.
There used to be a magazine called Mariah in the late 70s that was also a superb outdoor magazine. It was too successful and was snapped up by another publisher who morphed it into what is now Outside. RESIST this temptation, please. You guys have it nailed.

“You bring a lot of happiness to a lot of people with your utterly unique product.”
I just wanted to thank you for putting together such an extraordinary publication. It is impossible to get out as often as I like, but with the Journal I feel like I get a great substitute. Simultaneously, you are helping a fairly new overlander to get a better understanding of travel in far-off places that I likely would have been too nervous to venture to otherwise due to the obviously inaccurate stereotypes to which I have been exposed. I”m blown away with the quality and beauty in every single aspect on every single page. You bring a lot of happiness to a lot of people with your utterly unique product.

“I have benefited from reading each and every issue…”
I am in receipt of my charter subscriber renewal reminder and just subscribed for another two years. I”m sure you hear it all the time, but can one ever really partake of too much praise when it is rightfully due? I have benefited from reading each and every issue, and typically read it twice to make up for the fact that it is not a monthly publication. I have enjoyed seeing the refinements and evolution of the journal as it has grown. It”s hard to believe such a sophisticated and intelligent work is produced by such a young organization. In the hope that your egos can still negotiate the doorway, I will wrap it up by saying that I”m looking forward to the next two years of Overland Journal, with my only gripe being that I couldn”t find a “Life Membership” option.

“Finest publication I have ever had the pleasure of subscribing to.”
Without question, Overland Journal is the finest publication I have ever had the pleasure of subscribing to. Wonderful articles, brilliant photos, and unique subject matter define the new standard in travel periodicals. Heck, even the advertisements are great!
