In the world of overlanding, there are some vehicles and situations where a typical 5-gallon jerry can just isn't practical. Consequently, common blow-molded plastic containers of smaller sizes and volumes are easily obtained from auto parts and department stores and are often seen fastened to vehicles or trailers with ratchet straps or bungee cords.

A more elegant option is to use the RotopaX container system. The containers are made using a rotational molding process (roto-molded plastic) providing a consistent, thick, and even distribution of the wall material as the plastic is heated and cooled in the mold.

The containers are available in a variety of colors and sizes ranging from one to four gallons for various applications. The multi-surfaced design has integrated mounting points, handholds, and even interlocking surfaces so they can be mated or stacked.

RotopaX offers several mounting brackets and hardware parts that will adapt to many vehicles and accessories. The slender profile allows for stacking or is useful in applications where space is at a premium or a low profile is desired, such as on a roof rack.

All of the fuel containers are fitted with C.A.R.B. compliant nozzles that stow inside the can during transport. The threaded neck openings are nice and thick, with heavy-duty seals to prevent leakage even with severe expansion pressure due to heat and/or elevation changes.

RotopaX water containers are made of FDA-approved polyethylene and deemed safe for potable water, though you should follow general practices for initial off-gassing, sanitizing, and storage. High-density polyethylene (HDPE) is generally regarded as "BPA-free".

Aside from liquids transport, RotopaX also has hinged cases for general and first-aid storage uses.
